1973
COEXPAN
S.A. was founded in June, 1973. It began in a factory in Torrejón
de Ardoz, a town near Madrid, Spain, and from the outset was dedicated
to manufacturing plastic packaging for the dairy foods industry

1978
A sheet with printed film was launched, allowing much more sophisticated
decoration.
1982
COEXPAN Chile was created to manufacture plastic sheets. It was
Coexpan group’s first factory abroad and the start of its expansion
in the Americas.

1985
COEXPAN
France was created to manufacture plastic sheets.
Three-coloured polystyrene sheets were brought onto the market. These
products allow our customers to include 3 different yoghurt flavours in
the same batch of packaging, differentiated by colour.
1989
A
5-colour polystyrene sheet was launched. This product allows our customers
to improve the packaging of their products and differentiate them in the
supermarkets. The Coexpan group has its own patents to protect this
kind of multicoloured sheet.

España
was created in Huelva (south of Spain), and started manufacturing preformed packaging (vending and dairy products).

1990
COEMBAL
France and COEMBAL Chile were created, dedicated
to manufacturing preformed packaging for the drop-seal process of packaging
yoghurts and milk-based desserts.
The
creation of EMSUR MACDONELL, a company dedicated to the
manufacture of lids and sidewalls (banderols) for packaging yoghurts and
milk-based desserts for the form-fill-seal process. EMSUR MACDONELL also
produces different kinds of flexible packaging for the food industry.
1992
The
launch of barrier sheets, which allow packaged products to be protected
from oxygen, gases and water vapour, by means of coextrusion of a structure
with different polymers in order to protect food products over a longer
shelf-life without the need for refrigeration.
1997
The
creation of COEXPAN Brasil to manufacture polystyrene
sheets.
1999
EMSUR Polska was created, in the outskirts of Warsaw. This plant,
specialized in manufacturing lids, sidewalls (banderols) and flexible
packaging, allows the COEXPAN group to serve its East European customers.
ALUPACK Chile joined the COEXPAN group.
A commercial agreement was reached with OPTIPACK and
the COEXPAN-NET group created.
2000
COEXPAN Deutschland was created to manufacture plastic sheets.
2001
The
next step: COEXPAN Mexico !!!
2002
Adquisition FSP France for the manufacture of co-extruded barrier sheets.
2005
Creation of EMSUR México for the manufacture of covers, pennants and flexible products. Thus permitting expansion throughout the American continent.
2006
Flexible product launch on a worldwide level.
2007
Buyout of the Russian company Extekh, which produces PS and PP sheets mainly for the dairy market in Eastern European counties.
Purchase of the company Sipack in Argentina , which produces flexible packaging mainly for the food market in South America.
